History Excursion today! Yay?
Yesterday was fun; at lunch, I went to pay for the excursion and Ally and I managed to stumble into the quad, where music was pumped out on this stereo, people were engaged in all sorts of activities, such as basketball games, Limbo games, and skipping games.
Carmen and Ally are so pro at Limbo! Heh. But I pwn at skipping. ^^ I managed to complete Teddy Bear, but Double Dutch is HARD. I’ve never done it before. Oh well. I love skipping. x3
~
Today started off by catching the train with Suvi, Julie and Scott, and having an interesting conversation that started out with the topic of a stomach ache and somehow managed to end up with death penalty. Yeah, weirdness. We got out at North Sydney, and hurried up the stairs to catch a bus.
We ran and managed to catch a bus that was on time for once, and arrived at school. We didn’t really do much, until the bell rang and we lined up in the quad. Then our buses came at 9:15a.m. and we were told to take notes on the excursion.
Eventually we arrived at the dock and waited for the ferry. We took down notes and then clambered aboard the rocky boat. Ally and I both have motion sickness, but amazingly we didn’t get sick on this journey, coz the boat was moving at snail pace, and it was actually quite fun. This guide was praising us for being “sensible and well behaved” and then Ally, Celia and I looked out onto the deck and saw our about 5 of our classmates dancing about like lunatics. So much for sensible and well behaved. XD
After a journey that included watching out for lone seagulls, we arrived at Cockatoo Island. Which caused me to remark was very ugly, coz it was flat and there weren’t any trees or pretty nature. Our guide for the day, Lin, took us through convict barracks, the guardhouse and long dark tunnels. At the mess hall, we were locked in this big dark room for like 10 seconds. The teacher closed the door and locked it (I think she did) and I managed to scare Ally 2 times; she screamed. O.O; xD Anyway, we had to take down so many notes. I think I’ve got 6 pages. And we saw a cute baby seagull. =D
We stopped for a break and Ally and I and 4 other people lost our group. Not our fault ><; xD And we found them again with the help of another guide, and inconspicuously slipped in. It was like, “Is it me, or were those 6 people not here 1 min ago?” Haha.
We arrived at the warehouse, which was BIGGG and tried yelling “Coo-ee” which sounded very delicate and “genteel” according to Lin. But we’re girls, what do you expect, low grunting or something? Haha.
There were tents out on the flat land, and we were discussing possibilities of camping out here in summer. And also, we decided that Cockatoo Island should be transformed into:
1) A paintballing ground. PUREPWNAGE.
2) Ghost tour area. Awesome!~
3) Desert Disneyland amusement park thing.
4) Miniature Hollywood set thing; coz the prequel to X-Men was filmed partly on Cockatoo Island. It looks like a real cool set!
I was pointing out to Ally that this building looked like the Chinatown buildings in ‘Spirited Away’; you know, where Chihiro finds her parents turning into pigs. Seriously, it DID look like it, and I was saying how cool it would be if there was an actual set for ‘Spirited Away’. Then I began imagining that the black buoy things looked like “No face”. and Ally began hallucinating too. I’m such a pro awesome influence. ^^
After a few grueling hours of studious note taking, we boarded the ferry again. And were discussing Titanic. See, Ally should do the ‘Rose pose’ thing, where she spreads out her arms. xDD
The guy with the microphone thing called us “Sydney Girls”. “Thank you to the students and teachers of Sydney Girls,” and everyone went “Eh?” O_O; How dare they demote us to SG! Joking. ^^ Ruse might’ve been okay. That would’ve been hilarious. But Sydney Girls…xDD
Yeah. And then we arrived back at Circular Quay and got on the buses.
We had 40 minutes to spare, and should’ve left early to go to GW to play air hockey. >>;; But the teacher wouldn’t let us leave. So yeah, we entertained ourselves by climbing the railings near the office, and then playing Limbo with a lacrosse stick. Aren’t we so creative/ingenius/retarded. Fun!
And then half way through our Limbo game, we decided we had enough and left. And the teacher told us to go back, and as soon as she got onto the bus, everyone pretended to walk back. After that, we walked back to the bus shelter. Heh. That’s the sad thing about going to a school where everyone’s scarily smart. =]
Yeah, we went back home. Anndddd;;
That’s all for today.
Bye~
